This is what we believe a menu at any fine 1920s restaurant would look like. Of course, while a select few were eating like kings, others were living in complete poverty. Also, the 20s was a period with a huge variety in how food was seen. First, there was Prohibition, the banning of all liquors. Also, impact from other cultures in Chinese and French food. There were tenement kitchens and also social movements for changes in food (home economics, Ladies Home Organization). Finally, George Washington Carver was exploring vegetarian foods. The idea of this menu, however, is to show how insulated from the changing world this world of the rich was.
